Honoring Your Energy

Have you ever had a moment where you just felt something - like an energy shift, or a deep knowing, without fully understanding where it came from? That’s the power of your energy field.

Our energy field, also known as the “aura,” is an invisible yet incredibly powerful part of us. It’s not just some abstract metaphysical idea; it’s the real, vibrant flow of energy that surrounds and connects us to the world around us. Just as we have physical bodies, we also have a subtle energy body that can get clogged, drained, or imbalanced. This imbalance can have a profound impact on our physical health, emotional well-being, and even our soul’s journey.

But what exactly is this energy field? Why does it matter? And how can we tap into it to feel more aligned, centered, and whole?

Think of your energy field as a mirror of your inner state. When your energy is flowing freely, you feel grounded, balanced, and at peace. But when you're under stress, overwhelmed, or holding onto unresolved emotional wounds, your energy field can become clogged or distorted.

You might notice physical signs like:

  • Tiredness or fatigue that doesn’t go away, no matter how much you sleep.

  • Aches and pains that appear without explanation.

  • Feeling scattered or mentally foggy.

On an emotional level, an imbalanced energy field can show up as:

  • Unexplained anxiety or overwhelming emotions.

  • Feeling disconnected or out of touch with your intuition.

  • A sense of being stuck, as if you can’t move forward in life.

When your energy isn’t flowing freely, it’s often because your body, mind, or soul is holding onto something - whether that’s trauma, stress, or just the weight of everyday life. Your energy field carries the imprint of those emotions, and if you aren’t aware of them, those energetic blockages can begin to manifest in your physical body.

The human body is essentially a complex network of energy - we are energy. Physicists have found that everything around us, including ourselves, is made up of vibrating energy. For example, our heart creates an electromagnetic field that is not only measurable but extends beyond our physical body. In fact, the heart’s field is the largest electromagnetic field produced by any organ.

These fields aren’t just about the physical; they also connect us to our emotional and mental states. When you’re stressed, anxious, or feeling down, your electromagnetic field can become distorted. Research has shown that Reiki, a form of energy healing, can help restore harmony to your energy field by rebalancing your body’s electromagnetic systems and promoting relaxation.

From a psychological perspective, Carl Jung believed that our unconscious mind holds vast, untapped energy. He referred to this as the collective unconscious, a deep reservoir of shared human experiences, archetypes, and symbols. Jungian psychology teaches us that we are constantly moving between the conscious and unconscious parts of ourselves - often without even realizing it.

Jung also spoke about the Shadow, those parts of us we keep hidden from the world (and often from ourselves). The Shadow consists of repressed emotions, unacknowledged fears, and unresolved wounds. These hidden parts can weigh heavily on our energy field. When we ignore or deny these aspects, the energy becomes blocked, and we may experience emotional or physical symptoms that feel completely out of control. Yet, we may be completely unaware of their influence and may not even remember what they are.

In order to heal and grow, we have to acknowledge our Shadow. This is where energy healing can be incredibly beneficial. Whether through Reiki, craniosacral therapy, or simply becoming more aware of your own energy, addressing emotional and energetic imbalances allows us to reconnect with parts of ourselves that we've suppressed or forgotten.

There are several tools and practices you can use to start tuning into your energy field and bring it back into balance:

  • Energy Healing: Both Reiki and craniosacral therapy work directly with your energy field. Reiki channels life-force energy into your body to clear blockages and restore harmony. Craniosacral therapy works by gently releasing tension in your craniosacral system, which can be a powerful way to shift emotional and energetic imbalances.

  • Mindfulness & Meditation: These practices help you listen to your energy field. Simply sitting in silence and observing how your body feels can give you clues about where your energy is flowing - or where it’s stuck. Meditation also helps you reconnect with your unconscious mind, where deeper energetic imbalances may reside.

  • Visualization: Imagine your energy field as a glowing light surrounding you. Visualize this light expanding, brightening, and filling you with calm and clarity. This practice helps clear stagnant energy and allows fresh, healing energy to flow through you.

  • Breathing Exercises: Breathwork is one of the simplest and most effective ways to reset your energy. Deep breathing helps regulate your nervous system, bringing balance and flow to your energy field. Focus on your breath - breathe in deeply and exhale slowly - to release tension and recalibrate your body’s energy.

Your energy field is a reflection of your inner world. It responds to the thoughts, emotions, and experiences you encounter daily. When you’re in tune with your energy, you feel balanced, aligned, and grounded. But when you’re disconnected, overwhelmed, or holding onto unresolved emotions, your energy field can become distorted.

By practicing mindfulness, engaging in energy healing, and embracing your unconscious self, you can begin to clear blockages, release old patterns, and return to your center. The beauty of energy healing is that it allows you to reclaim your power, heal deep wounds, and become more attuned to the divine flow within you.

So, take a moment to breathe, check in with your energy, and ask yourself: Where am I carrying imbalances? How can I bring healing and light to those areas?

Remember, your energy is a sacred space. Honor it.
